Certified translations for USCIS
USCIS asks for a full English translation of every document in another language, certified by the translator as complete and accurate, together with the translator's certification that they are competent to translate that language into English. Our Sworn/Certified Translation meets that rule.
Order online in a few minutes: upload your document, see the price at once, and receive your translation by email in under 24 hours on weekdays. When an institution asks for an ATA-certified translator, choose ATA-Certified Translation.

What USCIS asks for
The rule is in US federal regulations, at 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3): a document in a foreign language must come with a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and with the translator's certification that they are competent to translate from that language into English.
The rule applies to every document submitted to USCIS, including green card and citizenship applications. It does not ask for the translation to be notarized, or for the translator to hold a particular credential.
What you receive
- the complete translation of your document into English
- the translator's signed certification, as USCIS asks
- a PDF by email, ready to upload to your application or to print
Sworn/Certified or ATA?
Both meet USCIS rules. ATA-Certified Translation is translated and certified by a translator who holds ATA certification for that language into English, a credential the American Translators Association awards after a demanding exam. It is the most widely recognised translation credential in the US, and the one to choose when an institution asks for an ATA-certified translator.
ATA-Certified Translation is available from German, French and Portuguese into English. From Spanish and Russian, choose Sworn/Certified Translation, which meets USCIS rules.
Universities, employers and other institutions
The same translation can be used for many other purposes in the US, such as universities and employers. Some institutions ask for more, such as an ATA-certified translator or a notarized translation: check what yours asks for before you order.
